HUNGER CALL
Awakening hungry
I dashed
To the
Kitchen
For a glass
Of milk...
As I neared
The door
I heard
Commotion!
Pots and pans
Being
Used.
Ladles
And knives
Chopping
And stirring
Away!
Who could
Be
In there
I wondered
A bit scared.
It was still
Dark
Outside
The doors
Locked
Windows
Latched.
Who could be
Inside?
Had a thief
Broken in
And was
A breakfast
Cooking?
I shuddered...
Grabbing a
Flashlight
I crept
On tiptoes
Forward!
My stomach
Hungrily
Growled
As I breathed
In the
Mouthwatering
Smells coming
From
The kitchen.
I moved
Closer to
The door...
It stood
Ajar!
I leapt in
Torch
In hand
And an
Aha
Expression...
The kitty cat
Frozen!
The table
Was laden with
Everything wonderful
To eat
I could see...
Trembling
The chef
Brought me
A glass
Of honeyed
Milk
And finger sandwiches!
We ate
And it was
A feast...
So glad
I am
I awoke
At the time
I did!
Hungry!
